Yum, Peas!

Hi ya Mamma!

I Love You Daddy!

My Son, the Thumbsucker

For those of you who know me well, I could have cared less if Max wanted a pacifier. Bring on the binky. I even special ordered pacifiers from a company in Hawaii. I totally love the Gumdrop Pacifier, by the way. My theory always was - I can take away a binky. I can't take away your thumb. So, what does God give me? One very cute, very smiley, thumb sucker. Karma!

GI/PT Update

We had Max at the GI on Friday for a follow-up visit. His weight his still down but he's on the charts. According to their scale, he'd gained about 9 oz in 2 weeks. So, we're counting it as a success. We are stuck having to deal with one very congested baby. He has been refluxing up into his sinuses. So, he's very congested and having a hard time breathing. The medication they normally would have prescribed has just had a "black box warning" added to it. We decided that Max didn't fit the criteria to go around the warning and it just wasn't worth the risk. So, we are just dealing with one very snorty baby. He sounds like Chloe most of the time. I did buy a battery powered nasal aspirator. I LOVE that thing.

We also went back to physical therapy this morning. Cathy (his PT) thinks he's doing better. He's still having a hard time holding his head up straight. He really like to tilt his head to the right. She put some tape on his neck to help remind him to hold his head up straight. We'll see if it works. I'm about done with PT. I'm hoping this works and we can get discharged.

Daylen was on Spring Break last week. He spent a lot of time vegging with Grandpa. He went to the Magic House with Grandma, Grandpa & Aubrey. Jason took off work on Wednesday and they went to Incredible Pizza- his favorite place. They also went to the Harlem Globetrotters. Did you know they play "crazy basketball?" And best of all our team won!! I post some pics as soon as I can get Jason to send them to me.

4 month Stats

Max had his 4 month check-up on Friday. He is dropping off a little in his weight. His doctor isn't too worried yet but we'll check in with the GI in a few weeks. We also got the go ahead to start some solids. I'm not terribly interested in jumping into it too quickly. Although, we did try a little cereal. I'll post pics tomorrow! We had a fairly quiet weekend. Aunt Haley was in town so we pretty much just hung out with her. Daylen loves his Aunt Haley. It's pretty funny! Aunt Haley taught Daylen to play Uno. We HAD to buy Uno immediately. Anyone up for a Uno tournament and Daylen's there. Aunt Haley loves Max. Correction, Aunt Haley loves to smush Max's face. She is, however, pretty much freaked out by his constant spitting. It makes me laugh.

Max had physical therapy again this morning. The PT was pleased with his progress as far as his neck rotation. If only we could figure out why he is tilting his head. They are doing a test run to check for allergies and if all goes well we'll start taping his neck to help remind his muscles to hold his head up straight. We are doing everything we can to prevent a flat spot. Right now his head shape is great. We're going to keep it that way. No helmet for my baby!

Daylen is participating in the St. Jude's Research Hospital Math-a-thon. We didn't really get the info in enough time to get sponsors to donate per point he receives. However, if anyone would like to donate a flat amount we'd appreciate it. Just let me know!

Here are Max's stats:
Weight: 13 lbs 15 oz (32% percentile)
Height: 24 inches (19% percentile)

Hope all is well! Thanks to everyone (Crissy) for wearing pink on Friday!
